PURPOSE & MISSION
Our purpose is to expose and engage black and brown youth. Our mission is to engage, identify and mold black and brown youth visionaries, pioneers, and technopreneurs in STEAM. According to the Pew Research Center, only 17 percent of Black and Brown people (2017-2019), obtain a job in the STEM workforce. To further enhance this issue, 1 in 10 STEM professionals is a minority woman. Our organization aims to provide proactive solutions to increasing black and brown youth in STEAM fields.

Khem Fest is a annual festival & celebration of Black Animation, Gaming and Comic Book Creators founded by comic book educator and educator Naseed Gifted in 2015. The goal of the festival is to use comic books, animation, games and popular culture arts to develop youth literacy and expression through S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).
The STEM-based Violence Prevention Program consists of a 12-month curriculum that teach participants key concepts related to STEM fields, such as animation, game design, programming, and mechanics, among others. Participants will also gain crucial knowledge and skills related to violence prevention and coping mechanisms. We take donations form local businesses and use them to create the next generation of technoprenuers. Help us connect with donors and with people in need.
